Overview:
This location features one of the top free public boat ramps in the country. It includes three concrete ramps with an eight-degree incline: one double and one single ramp, separated by a floating marina-style finger. Situated within the Marsden Cove Marina, the ramps are well-protected under all conditions, accessible in all tides, and suitable for boats of all trailer sizes. The closest town is Ruakaka, just a four-minute drive away.
Parking:
Ample parking is available, with numerous trailer spaces in a sealed area near the ramp. Additional parking can be found in a nearby all-weather grassed area.
Facilities:
The marina offers fuel and water on the jetty (card payments only) and a 24-hour unmanned land-based G.A.S. fuel pump. Amenities include two toilets and a user-pays shower.
Other nearby services and businesses include boat servicing, bait and ice sales, overnight dive-tank refilling, a dairy, liquor store, bakery, café, the Marsden Cove Fishing Club, a Coastguard base, and other small businesses. A strict ‘no wake’ policy is enforced, limiting speeds to three knots or less within the marina area.
